Community Bush Fire Safety Meeting

Tuesday, 31 March 2009, 7:30 pm

The Burra Bush Fire Brigade will be holding a Community Fire Safety Meeting in the Burra Hall on Tuesday, 31 March 2009.

In the shadow of the recent bushfire emergency in Victoria, our brigade will be holding this meeting to discuss bushfire risk preparedness, threat levels to your property, personal safety and the wellbeing of your family.

Information will be provided to help you prepare an asset protection plan as well as options before, after and during extreme fire events such as the recent Black Saturday Victorian fires.

All residents of Burra and Urila are urged to attend this meeting. The exceedingly hot and dry summer and autumn we are enduring means that the countryside is still at risk of a major fire event.

Membership of the Brigade is open to all residents. The brigade welcomes new residents to Burra and can arrange to come to your property to advise you of specific risks and how to minimise them.

For more information about the meeting, please contact Brian Egloff on 6236 3214.

This advice is free and can be arranged by contacting your local Fire Control Centre and speaking with one of their officers.
